Scala Vilagio F.H. Giovanni Grancino Viola 1670, handmade in Germany by master luthier Florian Hertzsch, Giovanni Grancino was the most famous luthier from Milano. His 1670 viola is one of a smaller kind, featuring a back length of 15,75''. It´s a light weight instrument that plays comfortable and perfectly fits players with smaller hands. Despite of its length it shows exactly the same width as the 16,5" Andrea Guarneri viol. Due to this enormous width it sounds full-bodied and warm. Spruce top (Picea abies), back, sides and neck made of flamed maple (Acer pseudoplatanus), ebony fingerboard (Diospyros crassiflora), rosewood fittings (Dalbergia latifolia), homemade antiqued amber-based oil-varnish based on the model of Italian masters, a thin layer of laquer enables the tone-woods to swing freely, traces of wear in the pattern of ancient Italian violins, maximum optimization of sound by final adjustment of soundpost and bridge, back length 402mm / 15,75'', belly stop 217mm, neck stop 141mm, strings: Thomastik Dominant, certificate included, comes with Jakob Winter Viola Shaped Case 51015 CAB.
